Blue Notes : Tetrahedron (Audio/Visual)

"Tetrahedron", the full length debut album, from Glaswegian producer Blue Notes drops on Bricolage in a little over  days time.

With that in mind, we've decided to unveil a brand new audio/visual accompaniment for the title track. Emotive melodies, colourful chimes and precision percussion come backed up with some stunning visual artistry from our resident film team, Digi Aye.

Ix Prospectum : Telescope (Audio/Visual)

We're back on the audio/visual trail for the second time in a week and this time it's for Ix Prospectum and his hypnotic track "Telescope". Once again, Digi Aye have taken stock footage and Creative Commons art pieces and blended them together with the work of visual design specialist, Mike Winklemann to create a shimmering, transfixing spectacle full of silver spheres, electric movements and digital landscapes.

Figurate : An Exist Strategy (Audio/Visual)

Tonight we're happy to be able to premiere the new A/V for Figurate's "An Exist Strategy". Our visual team, Digi Aye, have constructed a backdrop created purely from edits of the futuristic work of cult visual artist Mike Winkelmann. It's a fitting scene for the fragmented, altered reality and sound design of Figurate. Tune in and enjoy the trip.

Crae : Blue Wave (Audio/Visual)

"Blue Wave" is the closing track from the recent "Injection" release from Crae on Bricolage and acts as an ambient downtempo outro for the slicing and serrating techno that comes before it on the EP. With the powerful and full on beats taking prominence on "Injection", the juxtaposition of "Blue Wave" is the perfect way f.or Crae to sign off. Full of uplifting keys and little splashes of warm melodics that ping along subtly over the top of a solid drum base. For the video, our visual production unit "Digi Aye" have provided a simple yet equally tranquilizing accompaniment. A sea of azure, cyan and cerulean waves and designs that splish and splash their way through the screen. A welcome addition to our growing visual back catalogue. futurendeavours : Fifteen Minutes Of Fame (Audio/Visual)

Last month, futurendeavours, dropped their highly anticipated debut track on Bricolage. "Fifteen Minutes Of Fame" is a high octane, melting pot of ever evolving rhythms, layered synth work, tough melodics and carefully selected loops. Warped samples and minimalistic acid form the basis of a skewered, hybrid electronic track . It's certainly one for dancing to. With that in mind, our visual specialists, Digi Aye, have put together a video with tongue firmly in cheek and the dodgy dance factor turned up to 10. A fifteen minute bonanza full of questionable dancing and nods to retro culture.

Mute Branches : Potholing By Telephone (Audio/Visual)

Bricolage is proud to present the music video for "Potholing By Telephone" from the recently released Mute Branches album, "Fake Real Warm". 

Our video department Digi Aye have created a slightly psychedelic and hazy nod to the stylings of Boards of Canada in their visual interpretation of "Potholing By Telephone". Quite fitting given the BoC influences that Mute Branches carries so well in his sound. The track eases along at the perfect downtempo pace and the flow of the video marries in well. "Fake Real Warm" from Mute Branches is an album that strolls perfectly across the experimental line in the musical sands. Treading through both simple and complex patterns as it does so. It comes across as both digital and analogue. Steeped in a retro sound but also breaking into modern and fresh territory. At it's heart is a lo-fi essence full of unique samples, glitches, beguiling synths and minimal, sparse soundscapes. The bones of the album are made up of meandering bedroom beats and mellow chords and keys. Everything fuses together with ease and that familiar tinge of Mute Branches style nostalgia warmth helps to creates a beautiful daydream like scenario from start to finish.

Leit Motif : Dormant (Audio/Visual)

Our visuals department, Digi Aye, have teamed up with Leit Motif to create a minimalistic, grainy and glitchy black and white visual for the track "Dormant" from Leit Motifs EP 'Supine'. It flows along nicely with the track, there's a dark and thoughtful aura hanging over the drones in the music and the mood of the video captures the slow burning atmosphere that is evident throughout.

Alpha Skies : Evergreen Morning (Audio/Visual)

Alpha Skies contributed his track "Evergreen Morning" to our latest compilation, 'Volume 3'. Here it's given the audio/visual treatment from our resident visuals group "Digi Aye". It's a relaxing visual interpretation of a remarkably soothing track. Computer error codes mixed with some swirling colours, sunshine and ambient nature scenes. There's a full assortment of colours to admire but the green theme is at the forefront. The perfect 3 minutes for a summer Sunday evening and beyond.

Roy Or Bison? : Eidetician (Audio/Visual)

Today we premiered our second audio/visual under the "Digi Aye" umbrella. "Eidetician" from 'Roy Or Bison?' is the next in line to be given a visual accompaniment.



The track is a lo-fi electronic escapade with intriguing sounds that ping and bounce all around the place. Marauding little synths lines, glitchy almost deliberately out of time drums and a multitude of odd little sounds ensure that the track is most definitely unique. The video from Digi Aye has provided a suitably unique backdrop of abstract colours, lines and effects to marry in with the song.

Oscurito : Octopus (Audio/Visual)

Last night the visual accompaniment for the track "Octopus" from Oscurito premiered on our YouTube channel. "Octopus" is the closing track on his EP of the same name which was released on Bricolage earlier in January this year. The track introduces itself with cascading little loops of sound that are joined by a beat and poignant synths that help build the tension before a solid bassline and muscular beat take centre stage and carry the track through to it's finale. The "Octopus" EP as a whole throws up some vivid imagery of space and dark, galactic vibes so it's only fitting that the video should provide you with those elements too. This particular audio/visual is the first project to fall under our Digi Aye sub collective. There's much more to come soon. For now though, emjoy getting lost in the colourful realms of space, soundtracked by a very promising young Glaswegian music producer.

Digi Aye?

Our YouTube channel filled up quite nicely over our first few months and we've recently added a few more videos to the channel this year. It's a nice mixture of audio/visual treats. Some of the artists make the videos themselves (in the case of Chairman Cow and get-effect) and the other videos have been produced and edited by label head and founder, Fragile X.

There's been an idea floating around recently that involves branching out and making the visual side of things have a wee bit more of a "standalone" idea so we're assigning all our videos from now on under the "Digi Aye" moniker. There will still be scope for our artists to make their own videos, encouraging creativity is at our core after all, but all videos appearing on our channel will now fall under the "Digi Aye" label. Think of it as a sub-collective, purely for the visual side of things. A collective within the collective. We'll be looking to add to the "Digi Aye" side of things by working with people who specialize in glitch, fractal and colourful elements. It's an exciting project and one that should provide another layer to Bricolage.

Our newest audio/visual and the first to fall under "Digi Aye" is a video for the Oscurito track "Octopus".

It'll premiere on our YouTube channel tomorrow night.
