Bricolage Podcast #47 - Justin Case

Local producer Justin Case is back on podcast duties for Bricolage this month as we prepare to launch his split EP with Austin artist, Devras Plexi. Titled "Lotus Eaters", the collaborative effort will be released on the 2nd of August and contains five tracks apiece from this pair of unparalleled artists. It's a coming together of two of the most colourful artists on our roster and you're in for a psychedelic treat full of bright electronics. Expect previews and snippets soon.

This new mix from Justin Case contains a first listen to one of his own tracks from the upcoming release. "Passaic Formation" opens the podcast proceedings with its drowsy vocals and chaotic scattering backdrop before we head into a musical manifesto that includes all manners of sonic delights ranging from dancefloor weapons, twitchy classics and lo-fi kicks before closing with one of my own personal favourite remixes of all time from Roy Of The Ravers.

Devras Plexi and Justin Case "Lotus Eaters" EP is out 2/8/19

Stay tuned.

As always you can listen below or on our mixcloud.

Dark Fidelity Hi Fi "Gentle Static Flow" (bc045)

In anticipation of "Found", the brand new studio album from Dark Fidelity Hi Fi, we bring you a reissue release of the Manchester wizards 2018 album, 'Gentle Static Flow'.

A true journey into the glitchier side of ambient that's complimented with trip hop vibes and meticulous sampling methods. DFHF has an old school approach to track structures that hark back to the glory days of mid to late 90's IDM. Making for a warm, nostalgic and engaging outcome.

Originally released in July last year we've repackaged the digital version with some bonus tracks including the never before heard "Pushing Ratios".

We've also managed to get our hands on 20 copies of the now long sold out original CD for a very limited edition run on Bricolage. The CD contains the full original release and comes with an instant digital download that includes the bonus tracks.

The new DFHF album "Found" is released 5th of July on Bricolage.

Leit Motif "Bloom" (bc044)

We celebrate the summer solstice with a crisp new single from Leit Motif.

'Bloom' is a grandiose affair that perfectly encapsulates the daylight theme with its wandering ambient intro full of sporadic notes that lead into welcoming beams of light. Stimulating drum work and radiant synths take over as the track reaches its pinnacle in a haze of warm sounds.

At just over 14 minutes long it's a true epic that is intended to play out as a musical journey that bleeds sunrise into sunset....

Complex Distractions Reviews "The Butterfly Effect".

There was a nice surprise review for our latest release from Fragile X via J.Hubner at Complex Distractions.

"Over six tracks and 35 minutes, The Butterfly Effect waxes and wanes in buzzing, electrical forms throughout. Fragile X has created a mini-epic which its scope runs from terra firma to deep space madness. Chaotic, blistering electronics tell a tale that work to move you and to make you ponder it all."

..."it’s electronic music you can practically touch."

Read the review in full on the Complex Distractions blog.

"The Butterfly Effect" is available now on Bandcamp. Grab it in either digital format or hand numbered limited edition cassette.
